Our busy season has quickly come and gone, and we are finishing our last couple of projects to complete the year of 2025. One of the jobs we are in the process of completing, comes from an existing customer in Carlisle. Towards the end of the summer, this homeowner added a pool in the rear of his property. Once this was installed, he called Malco to have pavers installed around the pool, up against a newly poured concrete pad, and up to an existing gazebo. Our first order of business was to build up our paver area with a 2a modified stone. Typically, we install 6 inches of 2a modified, but for this job, we were closer to 10 inches. Once all of our modified stone was installed, we had to compact the stone with a plate tamper to ensure the pavers had a proper base to lay on. Once compacted, we could bring in our thin bedding layer of stone dust for the pavers to be laid on. For this patio, we used Villagio chocolate brown as our solider course with a chestnut brown blu60 paver as our main infield. We began at the corner of the new concrete pad and ran the pavers towards the gazebo. In doing this, we took notice to the existing gazebo being improperly leveled. After we mentioned this to the homeowner, he was able to have another company raise the gazebo, and level it properly. Once we were able to take the pavers past the gazebo, we temporarily ended the pavers due to a fence that will be installed around the pool. In saying this, we could start to work on the other side of the concrete pad. On this side, we needed to install a sitting wall with a pilar, that would flow into a retaining wall for the remainder of the patio. The wall product was Semma retaining wall block and the pillar also consisted of Semma pillar kit. After our necessary stone was installed and compacted, we had to begin with the installation of our pillar. Once we had the first few courses of the pillar installed, we could begin running our sitting wall in each direction. Once we had our pillar and wall completely built, we could run our pavers to the wall, and finish out this side of the patio. We still have some caps to install, and a small walkway to install, but take a look at the progress to this point!
